Description
Dehydrated whole leaf Yerba Mate, freshly picked from the tree. Sustainably grown by Bayleaf Herbals, a Nambucca Valley chemical free grower, before being dehydrated at Kooinda Cottage. They are kept whole so you can chop them as required – this preserves the natural oils and nutrients for longer. The flavour is very mild and soothing. Yerba Mate is a herbal caffeine alternative.
The leaves come packaged in home compostable bags.
Benefits of Yerba Mate
Dried whole leaf Yerba Mate (pronounced yerba matay) contains around 1.5% caffeine and as such is a brain stimulant, but the caffeine is in a compound with other ingredients (called a mateine) which makes it less agitative. So you can drink Yerba Mate Tea to improve concentration without effecting your sleep! Yerba Mate also eases depressive moods and helps deliver oxygen to the heart and muscles.
