Our Roots
Our Vision and Mission
Kooinda Farm began at Eungai Creek on the Mid North Coast, NSW, as a 100 acre chemical free farm of orchards and herb gardens. Here we became regenerative farmers, healing the land, and building nutrition in the soil. This now continues at Kooinda Cottage in Kempsey, where I relocated to start a new urban farm in 2025. The name “Kooinda” has deep meaning to me and means ‘happy place’ in aboriginal language.
My Vision at Kooinda Cottage is to grow and share herbs and flowers to nourish your spiritual and physical health and wellbeing, while caring deeply for the land that sustains us.
My Mission remains to grow using organic principles – without synthetic pesticides, herbicides, or chemical fertilizers. While we are not currently certified organic, our practices are grounded in respect for soil health, biodiversity, and the natural rythms of the seasons. Everything is grown and hand-harvested with love.
Our Philosophy
To stay small scale and boutique, practicing regenerative agriculture to build soil nutrition and sink carbon back into the soil. This creates a thriving ecosystem with good soil nutrition, which in turn puts nutritional value back into the food. This is organic farming and permaculture all rolled into one. The organic cycle is completed with chooks and ducks to build great compost for the soil.
To create biodiversity by having a Citrus Orchard of Kaffir Limes, Tahitian Limes, Lemons, and Oranges, and growing Lemon Myrtle, Turmeric, Ginger, and Elderberries, and of course lots of wonderful herbs! And of course there are flowers everywhere to attract those awesome bees!
I use moon planting guides, and I use crystals to set intention and focus healing energy into my teas.

Our ingredients are freshly harvested as needed for sale. This means some of the products are only available when they are in season. We occasionally source from other local chemical free and Australian certified organic farmers to keep up with demand when our own stocks run low.
